Former Barca Larssondelan joins Koeman’s coaching staff

Former Swedish star Henrik Larsson and former Hoffenheim coach Alfred Schreuder will join the squad of new coach Ronald Koeman in Barcelona, the club announced friday.

Larsson and Schreuder signed two-year agreements. Koeman named ahead this week to upgrade quique Setien, who fired after Barca’s 8–2 defeat to Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarter-finals.

Larsson, 48, spent two seasons at The Camp Nou as a player from 2004 to 2006, scoring 22 goals in matches and winning the Champions League and two La Liga.

The Swede played with Koeman for two years at Feyenoord between 1995 and 1997.

Since his retirement in 2009, Larsson has trained Landskrona, Falkenberg and Helsingborg in his local country.

Schreuder, 47, left Hoffenheim in June due to an opinion on the club’s management.

The Dutchman, who in the past served as assistant coach, joined the Bundesliga team from Ajax last year to take over after Julian Nagelsmann’s departure to RB Leipzig.

Schreuder was also to blame Twente in 2014-15.
