Former Bolton Wanderers and Wigan Athletic striker Kaiyne Woolery will be a Ligue 2 player this season after reaching an agreement with Tranmere Rovers.
The 25-year-old has joined the Prenton Park team and leaves Ligue 2 champion Swindon Town.
Woolery made 24 appearances for Wanderers between 2014 and 2016, scoring three times.
He then moved to Latics but played once for DW Stadium, before spending a first part of 2017 at Forest Green Rovers.
He then moved to Swindon that summer and scored 14 goals in 111 games for the Robins, while Richie Wellens’ team won the League 2 name last season when the crusade was interrupted by the coronavirus pandemic.
Woolery is now in the department as his former club, Bolton, with whom Tranmere plays on 19 December at Bolton University Stadium on 23 January at Prenton Park.
In statements to the club’s online page after joining Tranmere, Wollery said: “I am satisfied that the deal is now closed.
“It’s a position I’ve been making plans to come for some time, so I’m pleased to be here despite everything.
“Tranmere is a very large club and has recently won back-to-back promotions.
“Last year’s descent shouldn’t have actually happened, so I can come here and help us get another promotion.
“I talked to the coach, he just said what he needs this season and I think you can already see through some of the rookies that the team looks strong.
“I’m an explosive player, I’m fast and I like to play on my shoulder. I already know some of the boys, which makes it less difficult to install.
“Tranmere is a difficult position for the opposition, so I can’t wait to get started now. “
