Myers said Santos hired him as an assistant on Jan. 25. He went on to say that they were mailing to the congressman’s office in Washington, D. C. two days later, when Santos asked them to gather on a small couch in front of the lawmaker, he placed his hand on Myers’ knee.
“Hey buddy, we’re going to go karaoke tonight,” Santos asked, according to Myers’ complaint posted on Twitter.

Myers said he declined the invitation, telling Santos he wasn’t a fan of clubs and bars and wasn’t a singer.
“The congressman took his hand and moved it down my leg to the inside of my thigh and began touching my groin,” the complaint says.
Santos then allegedly informed her that her husband was out of town and asked if she wanted to come.
The congressman had told her the day before that she had Grindr, an LGBTQ dating app, and asked if Myers had a profile.
Myers further alleges that, when hired as a staff member, he was told he would work voluntarily until his documents could be processed, which he later discovered was a violation of House ethics rules. He is also accused of employing a fake animal charity in 2016 to defraud a disabled veteran by raising money for his dog’s cancer treatment and then keeping the budget himself. Santos denies the accusation.
Santos has faced calls for his resignation from Republicans and Democrats in Congress and many Republicans in New York state. He said last month he would resign if the other 142,000 people who voted for him asked him to. Last week, Santos said he would recuse himself from committee assignments.
