Inter Milan have known Kalidou Koulibaly as their main move target, while his Chelsea teammate Trevoh Chalobah is the alternative.
The Nerazzurri will have behind them after the departure of Milan Skriniar who will sign for Paris Saint-Germain. The Slovakian will arrive in the French capital as a loose agent following the expiration of his contract with Inter.
Beneamata therefore turned his attention to Koulibaly, one of the most formidable central defenders of his time in Italian football.
The 31-year-old was a mainstay of Napoli between 2014 and 2022. However, he failed to find his most productive form in his first campaign in the Premier League.
Thus, according to Il Giornale FcInter1908, Koulibaly is no longer part of the loan of Chelsea after the appointment of Mauricio Pochettino as head coach.
But while the Blues would be willing to loan the Senegalese defender to Inter, the player’s constant salaries are again the main obstacle. Lately he earns 10 million euros a year in net salary.
As the source explains, Chelsea are expected to make a contribution by paying 50% of the defender’s salary on his loan to Giuseppe Meazza.
So if Inter fail to secure Koulibaly’s signature, his Chelsea teammate Chalbah may be a viable alternative.
The 23-year-old is an English defender who has risen through Chelsea’s youth ranks and boasts a first-team member in recent years.
However, the young defender may be tempted by a foreign party that would allow him to expand his game while accumulating more playing time.
