Former Wonderkid of Real Madrid Royston Drenthe has been declared bankrupt by a Dutch court.
The resolution followed Tuesday in Breda, and the 33-year-old man did not show up at the hearing.
Drenthe spoke to the Dutch online page voetbalzone after the verdict, but insists that he hopes the resolution would not be final, and explained that his lawyer was on vacation when the verdict was issued.

“I don’t know the ins and I don’t know exactly what’s going on, but if that’s what I think it is, it’s not that important,” he told the website.
“I’m still under a magnifying glass, yet it will resolve as it is.
Drenthe has said in the past that he lost 3. 2 million pounds for the last time after his brilliant football career slowed down.
Early in his senior career with Feyenoord, he won a season at Real Madrid in the back of his exhibitions at the European Under-21 Championships in 2007, where he was named player of the tournament while the Dutchman lifted the trophy.
While enjoying good fortune at Bernabéu, he failed in a normal position and spent time on loan, adding a season with Everton in the Premier League.

Also appearing for Reading later in his career, Drenthe announced that he had left football in 2016 to pursue a career in music and introduced a career with the nickname Roya2Faces.
He also attempted to be an actor, appearing in the television police drama Mocro Maffia in March this year.
He returned in 2018 with Sparta Rotterdam and lately plays for the Kozakken Boys in the Dutch third division.
