Former Seahawks UW WR Jermaine Kearse joins Washington Huskies

Former Seattle Seahawks and Washington Huskies open receiver Jermaine Kearse joins the UW team, announced the show Tuesday.

Kearse’s homework name is still officially indexed on the school’s website, but he is said to have joined Washington as a program assistant.

Kearse, 30, played for the Huskies from 2008 to 2011 and is No. 1 in UW history receiving touchdowns (29), moment in yards at reception (2,871 yards) and third in receptions (180). He had his season for Washington, as a junior in 2010, with 63 receptions for 1,006 yards receiving and 12 touchdowns going to an All-Pac-10 team at the moment.

Kearse signed with the Seahawks as an undated loose agent in 2012 and built his reputation as an interpreter with Seattle, making some of the biggest catches in franchise history, adding the winning landing in the 2014 NFC championship game against the Packers. Seahawks to Super Bowl XLIX.

Kearse announced his retirement from the NFL in September after seven seasons (2012–18). The Seahawks traded him in 2017 to the Jets, with whom he played both seasons of his career.

Kearse has 255 receptions for 3,290 yards and 17 touchdowns in his NFL career.

She’s a beloved sports icon in Seattle. In addition to betting for the Huskies and Seahawks, Kearse played at Lakes High School in Lakewood.
