A number of chimney engines and chimney motors were called into a chimney in a Birmingham structure corridor and remained there overnight. A chimney exploded at Cambabest on Venetia Road, in Garrison Lane, on Bordesley Green, near the ground of Birmingham City Football Club. , at around 6. 30 p. m. on Saturday, 14 October.
A dozen chimney trucks and about 40 firefighters were mobilized to respond to the incident that involved the burning of construction fabrics in a yard. The chimney exploded at a distance of about 15 to 20 meters and affected particle board, doors, insulation, kitchen countertops and plasterboard, which were grouped together.
Due to lack of space, access issues, and lack of water, a large number of chimneys were needed to be received along the way. Firefighters dressed in breathing apparatus also had to be replaced 4 at a time and then replaced by more than 4 times the total amount used.

The incident commander, Andy Powell, of the West Midlands Fire Service, told Birmingham Live: “It was a fire in a construction corridor not far from the Blues’ ground. We wanted equipment on site due to access issues, lack of water supply. , and the need to rotate firefighters dressed in breathing apparatus.
“The construction fabrics were stacked very high. We worked with the site crew who were hauling the fabrics with a forklift while our firefighters used 4 large jets and a hose jet to extinguish the fire. The incident was reduced from ten to six bombs at 11:00 p. m. and from six to four from 11:30 p. m. to 11:45 p. m.
“On Sunday morning, we had an engine on site to check for hot spots, cushions and paints in place. A lot of painting was necessary. The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental. “
Cambabest showed that it had opened on Sunday as usual and that its business is operating normally.
