Frank Lampard was inspired by Mason Mount’s decisive crusade in Chelsea

Mount threw the best kick and held firm with Olivier Giroud at Stamford Bridge when the Blues defeated the Wolves 2-0 to reserve their position in the Champions League the fourth following.

The Portsmouth-born midfielder is already one of Lampard’s most trusted attacking lieutenants just a year after his Blues career, however, the boss of Stamford Bridge insisted that Mount would continue to improve.

“It will definitely get better because he’s very young,” Lampard said.

“When a player comes in and plays in his deciding year and is still a team component, other people treat him as if he were older than them. But he’s still young.

“You saw his strategy on the loose kick. It’s a special strategy and only players can hit the ball that way.

“Your full game for the bright season. His pictorial ethics and daily education are brilliant.

“He’s already contributed a lot, but he’s also going to get a lot better.

“This is just Mason’s start in Chelsea.”

Fourth-placed Chelsea was a turbulent crusade but at the positive end of the First League for former midfielder Lampard’s favourite.

The former England midfielder has guided Chelsea through his ban on movements, bloodied a crowd and also introduced a team review before the next period.

Mount stands out as Lampard’s most youthful gun success, and the midfielder himself admitted to being extremely happy with his first free-kick goal for Chelsea.

He told the club’s official website: “I’ve been waiting all season to throw a kick! It’s the best time to get in. I’m very happy. I check for success.

“And then the purpose of the moment just before noon, helped us get in the middle of the moment.

“We painted a lot in loose shots. If you score goals, you make loose shots, you have to train.

“We were doing them the day before the game, and I didn’t anote one!

“I had a terrible day and told Tammy (Abraham) that I would stay with her tomorrow.

“Willian was in the stands and we had a lot of fun, because I say, ‘Let me take the first one.’

“But we know what he’s got in loose shots. But I said I’d take the first one next time!”

The wolves were unable to reach the Europa League in the following quarter thanks to their defeat at Stamford Bridge, but they can still qualify for European action.

Midfielder Rubén Neves lamented the inability of Molineux’s men to put their European affairs in order, but promised that Nuno Espirito Santo will continue to push the Elite Premier League.

“When you’re a team fighting for the center of the table and other people see you fighting big sharks, you don’t have as much respect as other teams,” Neves told the Wolves club website.

“We have to get used to it, they have to get used to watching the wolves fight for what we have this year.

“Of course not, we have to do better.”
