Fred identifies Leicester’s risk to Manchester United

Manchester United midfielder Fred has met Jamie Vardy as Leicester City’s biggest risk of leaving on Sunday.

United will face Leicester at the King Power Stadium to secure Champions League football for next season. One point will suffice for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team to finish in the four most sensible.

And with Vardy, the most sensible Goalscorer in the Premier League and aspiring Golden Boot, Fred sent a warning to his teammates.

“He’s the most sensible goalscorer by chance,” the Brazilian told United’s official website. “So we have to rescind his threat. He’s a very sensible player and he’s having a wonderful season.”

“We have to be very careful with him. He’s a very smart player, we have to think about his threat purpose, but we have very smart players in defense who have to cancel it.”

About Leicester in general, he added: “They are a wonderful team and they did well.

“For a while they competed in the most sensible of the table for first place, but then they fell. They are a very, very intelligent team and we respect them.

“They have very smart players, a lot of very smart players and very sensitive scorers. As I said before, we will respect them but we will also contribute to the game to win.”

Fred also believes United can’t miss the Champions League.

Solskjaer took his team to sixth position last season, but the midfielder is desperate to return to Europe’s most sensible football competition.

“As a club, we deserve to be in the Champions League every year because we’re a great club,” Fred added. “So returning to the Champions League is vital for us players, it’s also vital for the club.

“That’s what the players and the club deserve and it’ll be wonderful to be back in the Champions League next season and we’re going to win the Champions League next season.”
