HELENA, Monte. (AP) – The Frontier Conference approved a convention football schedule with games starting last February, the league announced.
Montana’s five members of the NAIA convention had planned to play this fall until the season was postponed until mid-August due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Each of the league’s 8 groups will have to face the other groups once in a seven-week season that begins on February 27 and ends on April 10. There will be no parties outside the convention. Match dates can be replaced as advised by schools and local fitness officials, the convention announced Wednesday.
The NAIA football playoffs are scheduled to begin on April 17 and the national championship is recently scheduled for May 10 in Grambling, Louisiana.
Frontier Conference football teams are: Carroll College, College of Idaho Eastern Oregon, Montana Tech, Montana Western, Montana State-Northern, Rocky Mountain and Southern Oregon.
