FSU Football Offers Intriguing FCS Defensive Line Transfer for All Conferences

The Seminoles are chasing a coveted defensive line.

Florida State wrapped up spring education earlier this month as the focus shifts to the NCAA’s pass portal. The 15-day window for players to access the Spring Window portal ends Tuesday night.

The Seminoles are well above the portfolio limit, but they are still comparing potential features in the market. One of the key positions in the roster that can take advantage of an influx of skill is the inside defensive line.

On Sunday night, FSU extended an offer to offer the industry a defensive view of Grand Valley State over Jay’Viar Suggs. After the best season of his career, he has attracted interest from at least 35 programs, including Miami, Wisconsin, Iowa, TCU, Louisville. , Nebraska, Minnesota, Kentucky, Purdue, Arkansas, Kansas State, Indiana and Houston.

Suggs is a starter for Grand Valley State in 2023, recording 21 tackles, 7. 5 tackles for loss, five sacks, one forced fumble and 4 assists. This functionality earned him All-GLIAC Second Team honors. During his time with the Lakers, he totaled 42 tackles, 14. 5 tackles for loss, 8 sacks, two forced fumbles and nine deflected passes in 22 appearances.

The Minnesota location was not among the customers of the 2019 promotion. Suggs is expected to have two seasons of eligibility remaining, as her first season in the red blouse was scrapped due to the pandemic. He recently traveled to Arkansas, where he would be the first of his scouting move.

Interestingly, Florida State recently turned a former FCS defensive lineman into a first-round pick. Seminole star Jared Verse was selected through the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday night with the 19th overall pick after two monster years in Tallahassee. The program has developed a plan to stick to moving forward.

The Seminoles have seven defensive handball tackles heading into the 2024 season, but the room is missing a ton of fun shown outdoors by red-jersey junior Joshua Farmer. Red-jersey junior Darrell Jackson played just one game last year while out due to NCAA movement rules, while red-jersey junior Grady Kelly is transitioning from G5 to P5. Red-jersey sophomore Daniel Lyons and red-jersey freshman KJ Sampson all showed potential but didn’t play many vital reps. D’Nas White and Jamorie Flagg are new freshmen who can’t be counted on to land vital roles in a single summer.

A potential addition to the stadium would ultimately help the state of Florida make up for the offseason losses of Braden Fiske (NFL), Fabien Lovett (NFL), Dennis Briggs (transfer), Malcolm Ray (transfer) and Ayobami Tifase (transfer).
