Fulham signed Dutch defender Kenny Tete of Lyon on Thursday for an unreclosed fee.
Tete has signed a four-year contract with the Premier League team, who have the option to extend the contract for 12 months.
“I feel blessed to be here. I can’t wait to start my new one and meet my new teammates,” Tete told the Fulham website.
“I learned of the Fulham’s interest and was upset. I spoke to the people around me and soon I knew I wanted to leave Lyon and sign for Fulham. “
“The team is back in the Premier League now and I’ll give 100 percent to keep us there. “
Tete, who won thirteen matches with Holland, his ajax career before joining Lyon in 2017.
The 24-year-old right-back helped Lyon triumph in the Champions League semi-finals last season and made the last of his 82 appearances with the club opposing Dijon last week.
“He’s a young player with a wonderful experience and I’m so glad he joins us on a long contract,” said Fulham director Tony Khan.
“I am convinced that, with your preference to win, it will be a wonderful asset for us now and in the coming seasons. “
Fulham, promoted to the league play-offs last season, will play in the first game of the new Premier League season when Arsenal Craven Cottage on Saturday.
