WASHINGTON (WJLA) — Quite a sight greeted those marching between the White House and the Capitol along Pennsylvania Avenue on Saturday as race cars screeched down the road.
Organisers say more than 50,000 enthusiasts will attend the scheduled Formula 1 Red Bull Showrun.
The event featured former Red Bull Racing driver and 13-time Formula 1 Grand Prix winner David Coulthard driving the RB7 car, en route to Washington’s political power.
“The most productive component of the Red Bull Showrun is being able to introduce Formula 1 to some enthusiasts who have noticed it before, and even more importantly, those who have never noticed it before,” said Coulthard. “Pennsylvania Avenue from the cockpit, beautiful and it’s a wonderful privilege to drive the F1 car down this iconic street. “
