Gareth Bale signed for Tottenham on a one-season loan from Real Madrid. Bale left the Spurs for the La Liga team in 2013 for a world record of 85 million pounds. But now that the Welsh side is back in north London, many enthusiasts are wondering when he will make his (second) debut for Tottenham.
Unfortunately, Spurs enthusiasts would probably have to wait several weeks before seeing Bale in action.
The 31-year-old is injured in a knee injury he suffered while on duty abroad this month.
Tottenham has said they “expect it to be compatibility after the October foreign stop. “
That means Bale, who will wear the number 9 shirt, could miss the next five spur games.
The club’s first game after the next break is a home game against West Ham on October 17.
After seven full seasons of trophies in Madrid, Bale said the time had come to return to the Spurs.
He won four Champions League titles and two La Liga crowns with Real, scoring more than a hundred goals, but struggled to get regular minutes with Zinedine Zidane.
“I think one day, if I leave, I’d like to go back,” Bale told the Tottenham website.
“The opportunity presented itself and I think it’s a smart fit, a smart time for me. I’m hungry, I’m motivated, I need to get it right for the team. I can’t wait to get started. “
“When I go to Madrid, win trophies and go with the national team, I feel like I have that kind of mentality to win, how to win trophies.
“You don’t realize it until you’re there and it’s in those conditions, at best, [you learn] how to take care of your nerves, the pressure.
“It all comes with the experience, so I hope I can take that to the locker room and bring a little more confidence that we can win a trophy.
“The purpose is to do this this season, not just to win one to fight on every single one of the imaginable fronts. I need to bring that mindset here to Tottenham. “
