George Santos, a gay Trump supporter, has expressed dismay over a report that led to the firing of his fiancé. He claims that he had to flee his home as he revealed that Santos and his fiancé attended a mask-less New Year’s Eve occasion at Mar-A-Lago.
It was based on Santos’ own posts on social media as a quote.
“My fiance and I had to leave our space tonight with our four dogs thanks to my Instagram post @nytimes showing up attending the New Year’s party #MarALago,” Santos wrote on Twitter.
“My fiancé, a pharmacist who worked [12 hours, 7 days] shifts for nine months, was fired! The violence that opposes us is real. “

Santos Extra blamed the New York Times on Instagram for her new troubles and those of her anonymous fiancé. “@Nytimes, you put my circle of relatives in danger,” he wrote in a caption for a screenshot of his tweet, “… and he crossed [sic] one of us from our win-bread! She’s not American [sic]. “
The Mar-A-Lago New Year’s Eve party is a culture that Trump’s family circle started before he became president. The occasion has not been canceled this year, even despite the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. With more than 500 attendees expected, critics believed it would be a “super widespread” occasion, like the ones that inflamed various members of the Republican Party, in all likelihood adding the president.
The report Santos refers to, “No Trump, No Masks, Mar-a-Lago Party,” was posted online via The Times on New Year’s Day. The newspaper (among others) scanned the social media posts of several attendees and contacted some anonymously and found that almost no guests wore a mask to the gala.
Neither Santos nor her fiancé were known in the report by name, however Santos’s Instagram post was used as the source for the event menu description in the report.
At the event, Santos and her fiancé were all smiles. They posed for photos with “Trump World” figures like Rudy Giuliani and inspired billionaire heiress Andrea Catsimatidis, who chairs the Manhattan Republican Party.
Guests were charged approximately $ 1,000 to attend. Trump’s children, Rep. Matt Gaetz, Vanilla Ice, and MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell, were in attendance.
The president and the first lady, however, chose at the last minute to appear.
“It is not clear why Mr. Trump returned to Washington,” The Times reported, the Daily Mail believing that he was “forced” to return to the White House to paint relief paintings of COVID-19. Instead, President Trump tweeted about the New Year, sharing One America News Netpaintings (OANN) videos and election-related conspiracies all night and early in the morning.

In November, Santos lost his election to a congressional seat representing the New York State District. Had he been elected, Santos would have been the first LGBTQ Republican to be elected to the United States House of Representatives.
“I think this president has done more for the network than his predecessors,” Santos said in October. He was one of only two open-air GOP nominees to win the endorsement of Republicans in Log Cabin, who supported various anti-LGBTQ politicians through his side.
Santos presented himself as a far-right pick with a platform that included ending bail reform, expanding police funding, less gun control, partial privatization of Social Security, and building a wall between Mexico and the United States. He says that he supports equal marriage.
LGBTQ equality or protections that oppose discrimination weren’t discussed when he shared his platform on Ballotpedia, but the hurdle that “churches and synagogues never have a government mandate” does. summer.
Santos claimed to be the victim of electoral fraud and asked the “FBI, CIA, DOJ” to interfere on his behalf to prevent “ILLEGAL VOTES”. However, he finally admitted. It already started running in 2022.
In early 2020, his campaign, Santos contracted COVID-19. He later told Island Now that he “had probably had the worst two weeks of my adult life. ” Noting that he stayed with his fiancé in quarantine, Santos added that “no one would come to me thinking it was still viral. “
“That said, I survived the coronavirus,” he boasted.
Santos did not say why he had to leave his home immediately, why The Times was guilty of it or what violence he faced. The Times did not publish a response.
The global Twitter, however, has not been merciful in reaction to Santos’ claims. Some reactions assumed that his fiancée was a woman, with a tweet that said “she deserves to be fired” for attending the gala.
She deserved to be fired.

Other criticisms of Santos’s movements weren’t quite as type, even from other LGBTQ people. Collaborative Justice reporter and senior advisor Chris Geidner responded on Twitter: “Wait, am I right?
“Are you a man in Congress and disappointed that the newspaper that covers your district . . . covers your campaign-driven Instagram account?”
Geidner later tweeted, after seeing some of Santos’ political positions, “I am . . . Oh. “
