Ghirls Go Top – Celtic FC Women win, Rangers lose to Hearts

A header from Caitlin Hayes midway through the first half was enough to secure the 3 points tonight for Elena Sadiku’s thrilling Celtic FC Women. The Ghirls have now won their 4 post-farewell games and reach the halfway point on Sunday afternoon at Celtic. Park opposed Hearts, and a giant crowd was expected.

Sadiku’s side moved into the department of Rangers, who had not lost a single game, after four editions and the Celtic boss knew they probably had to win all ten games if they wanted to give Celtic FC Women their first name this season.

After wins over Rangers, Glasgow City, Partick Thistle and now Hibs, Sadiku came into tonight’s game with just one point for the Rangers, who played at Hearts tonight,. . . And they lost 1-0!

Celtic FC Women had to travel to Paradise on Sunday afternoon to play at the Hearts and the Ghirls are two transparent things in the most sensible of the league, despising Rangers!

“When you’re competing in the most sensible tournament in the league, you have to win when you’re not at your best. We did it tonight.

After tonight’s win against Hibs and Hearts did us a favour in the capital, we have now moved up to the most sensible position in the table, meaning Celtic FC Women are now in charge of the title.

Tonight’s game started and the Celts were seeing a lot of the ball, getting into the right spaces and looking for promise. So it’s no surprise that we soon discovered the first goal when, 21 minutes from time, Caitlin Hayes went home from a corner. He almost took advantage of a moment right away when Kit Loferski and Tash Flint set up nicely, but Flint’s shot was well saved.

The visitors began to make their presence felt as they moved into our zone, but their first shot of the game was stopped through Kelsey Daugherty. And on the other side, we came even closer when Colette Cavanagh worked hard to locate the box and shot. , but his shot only hit the crossbar.

Once the first half is over, it’s bad news for the Celts, as Amy Gallacher had to leave the box at half-time due to injury and will now be doubtful for Sunday’s game at Celtic Park.

Daugherty, who forced a couple of saves early in the second half as Hibs pressed for the equalizer. Just after the hour mark, Loferski almost came close to completing a great pass in the box, but the Hibs goalkeeper controlled to keep the score. Out American.

“We’re still fighting to get the 3 points and see it great. “

The Hoops began to press as time went on, with Cavanagh moving up the field to help the offense. As we continued to attack, Flint almost doubled our credit, but his shot hit the post. The Liverpool loanee returned to the centre of the attack as we entered the closing stages of the game, but was unable to hit the target when the referee rang the bell full-time.

But everyone will have been humming with the 1-0 win, as all three things mattered, which put Celtic at the top of the league, with Hearts causing the second defeat of the SWPL season to Rangers Women.

With this result in the capital, the race for Celtic’s name is on. I have confidence in each and every one of the Ghirls and Elena to lead Celtic to a historic victory and see them take the club’s first win. The SWPL name at Celtic Park would be a sight to behold at the end of the season.

Now, let’s not assume that we will face Hearts this Sunday in Paradise and, as they have just obtained a victory against our rivals, they will also be looking to beat Celtic. We want to make sure we stay in the 3. points, so make sure we stay behind the Ghirls this weekend. Tickets are still available for purchase HERE.

What a night, with the two effects looming in the SWPL and the Rangers dropping points at Dundee. Two league titles for Celtic are on the horizon.

Thank you for your Celtic night, we want you back this Sunday at Celtic Park!
