Giants put Xavier McKinney and David Mayo on the list of injured reserves

The Giants placed supporter David Mayo and rookie protector Xavier McKinney in the injured reserve, he announced Sunday.

Both players recently underwent surgery. Mayo corrected a meniscus in his left knee and McKinney had a fractured left foot that required surgery.

They are eligible to return after at least 3 games are missing.

The Giants replaced Mayo and McKinney on the roster by signing Eric Tomlinson and defensive back Brandon Williams.The team surrendered with Tomlinson and Williams on Saturday.

Mayo is entering his season for the time being with the Giants.He has played all 16 games, starts in the last 13.He finished the moment in the team with a career record of 80 tackles.

McKinney, number 36 in this spring’s overall selection, competing for the initial protective post opposite Jabrill Peppers when he was injured two weeks ago.
