Gilardino candidly admits his future amid Juventus interest

Alberto Gilardino is doing a commendable job as director of Genoa and is holding several high-level positions in Italy.

The former striker emerges as one of the former Italians to excel as a coach of underdog Serie A teams.

Although the club has sold some of its key players in recent months, Gilardino has continued to maximise the future of its players.

He is being closely watched by clubs such as Juventus and Fiorentina, and there are fears in Genoa that he will leave this summer.

However, when asked about his future, Gilardino said, as quoted by Tuttojuve:

“Will I coach Genoa again? I always tell the truth: here I have had and am on an incredible adventure of growth. The most important concept is to finish this season in the most productive way imaginable, and then we’ll have time to think about the future. The solution may not depend on me alone, for now let’s try to finish in the most productive way imaginable and write down as many things as we can. In these situations, in addition to the contractual aspect, it will be mandatory to perceive the objectives and systems in accordance with the will of the company towards the team.

Juve FC says

Gilardino is one of the coaches at the moment and has done a smart job on the Genoa bench, which prepares him for a bigger role in the game.

Juventus would possibly be too big for him now, as he is just starting his coaching career, but he is a coach to watch.
