Gini Wijnaldum is confident liverpool can definitely start their Premier League defence even though the club has had three “difficult” opening games against Leeds United, Chelsea and Arsenal.
The Reds took the league trophy for the first time in 30 years last season, completing the crusade with a cool point.
But the hunting team will be desperate to take down Jurgen Klopp’s men, with Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea all hunting before the new campaign.
Liverpool will face Arsenal, the FA Cup holder, for this year’s Community Shield on 29 August before the high-flying season against newly promoted Leeds at Anfield.
The champions then Stamford Bridge for an appetizing clash with Chelsea before returning to Merseyside to face the Gunners again.
“We faced First Leeds at home, then Chelsea as a visitor and Arsenal at home, it’s very difficult!” Liverpool midfielder Wijnaldum said at the club official after the announcement of the adjustment list.
“But we’ll have to get smart results.
“My first season when I got here was also a rough start with 3 games away from home because the stadium isn’t ready, so it’s pretty similar.
‘We’ll have to see what it’s going to look like with the enthusiasts and all that, but in the Premier League all kinds of games are tough, especially at first because they’re all fresh.
“We just have to work out well and try playing the games as best we can and get in a position for the season.”
Liverpool goalkeeper Adrian said the team was glued to his phone at his pre-season education camp in Salzburg, Austria, to find out what the match list for the new season was like.
“It was the pre-activation that they broke the news to us,” the Asturian explained.
“Then everyone puts the himself in a position before training, but they check his phone to see! It’s a smart feeling.

“Now we know all the matches from start to finish, all the difficult times and also the Christmas season. In the meantime, we will have other competitions, the cups and the Champions League.
“It will be a wonderful season, but difficult. Last season was glorious and historic, but now we’re going to be in the provision and face a wonderful challenge ahead of us.”
Speaking about the complicated start of the Liverpool campaign, Adrian added: “No matter who the team is, because it will be a challenging season, that’s for sure.
“The first opponent is leeds at home and we have to be in a mental and physical position, but even earlier, because we will play the Community Shield against Arsenal.
“We are more than in a position to take on the wonderful challenge of the coming season.
“You have to play against everyone and obviously we have a quick and complicated start, but we have to be in an even previous position, on 29 August against Arsenal.
“This is the first trophy, the first vital game of the season for us, so I’m sure we’ll be in one position.”
