Lamenting the departure of Alexander Meier, the guy they called the God of, the Frankfurt enthusiasts found solace in the smile of their newly acquired sniper, Patience, who arrived at the club on a four-year contract with FC Porto.
Sweating during his first educational sessions on German soil, the striker has dazzled the hounds with his warmth and determination, ready to express his sincere enthusiasm for the demanding situations that lie ahead.
“I am very happy and I am looking to be part of the Eintracht family,” said the former Portuguese under-21 striker, adding: “It’s a dream for me to play in the Bundesliga.”
The son of former Porto legend Domingos Paciencia, Goncalo needs to start building a reputation forged for the 2018/19 Bundesliga and the UEFA Europa League. His muscular construction, his strength with the ball, his exact and exact end made Eintracht’s sporting director Fredi Bobic purr about the odds of Patience in the 16th Bundesliga circular.
“We have a real centre forward that gives our team another dimension,” said the former German international. “Goncalo is an agile player who can also hold the ball in the air.” Speaking to the TV channel Eintracht, Patience added: “In my position, the task is to score goals and I just have to do that. I’m going to paint hard to be a player.”
The harsh paintings in Gerguyy for the boy in an absolute cap from Portugal began on July 18. Prior to that, he finished the 2017/18 crusade with a league champion medal in Porto. Limited to 222 minutes of the Dragon Championship winning race, it was the first part of the crusade, when he was on loan at Vitoria Setubal, which Patience demonstrated his abilities. Scoring ten goals and offering six assists in 24 games for the Portuguese la Liga team made Porto coach Sergio Conceicao remember the fit striker at the base.
The new Eintracht coach, Adi Hutter, can now count on the finalist of the 2015 UEFA European Under-21 Championship in his team, and with Sébastien Haller and Luka Jovic already eager to impress, the match festival at Commerzbank-Arena in 2018/19 is ready to sizzle.
“I’ve played as a striker, but I need to play no matter the position,” Patience told the Eintracht’s official website. “As long as I can help the team, whether it’s in a central role or [otherwise], I’ll try.”
After winning more than 50 matches with Portugal, the new boy from Frankfurt most convinced to embark on his adventure in Gerguyy through several compatriots who know the Bundesliga well: Raphael Guerreiro of Borussia Dortmund and Ricardo Costa, former Wolfsburg.
“I already played with the Portuguese in the Bundesliga and everyone was saying, “Do it!” Sign by [Eintracht]! This is a wonderful opportunity for you. “When it was such a club of stature, I didn’t have to think twice.”
For now, the era of sleep continues for Patience, who has been well received in the Eintracht League-style team, with 22 foreign players, making it the top foreign bundesliga team.
“The boys here have won very well through me, ” he said. “Frankfurt is a club that has many other nationalities in the squad, which is good, because I don’t speak German yet. I’d like to be informed of German temporarily, so I don’t want an interpreter in a few months.”
This first lesson will involve the German word for a purpose: Tor.
