MIAMI (AP) – Gonzalo Higuaín signed Major League Soccer with Inter Miami on Friday, a day after the 32-year-old striker terminated his contract with Italian champion Juventus.
Higuain has signed as a designated player whose salary is not counted under the league’s salary cap.
He dropped to 8 goals in 32 Serie A matches and 11 in 43 matches in total for Juventus, returning to Turin after sharing the 2018–19 season on loan with AC Milan and then Chelsea. He has scored 48 goals in 105 league matches in 3 seasons for Juventus and scores in all competitions.

Higuaín also played for River Plate of Argentina (2004-07), Real Madrid (2006-13) and Napoli (2013-16), scoring 306 goals in 640 games in all competitions. He scored 31 goals in 75 games with Argentina from 2009 to 18.
