BALTIMORE (AP) — Maryland Gov. Wes Moore has announced a meeting with Kansas Gov. Laura Kelly about the final results of Sunday’s AFC Ravens-Chiefs championship game in Baltimore.
The bet highlights popular local businesses in the state. Moore bet crab cakes from Baltimore’s Crust By Mack Bake House, while Kelly makes crab cakes from Arkansas City’s Crust By Mack Bake House.
Moore highlighted Kansas City’s dominance in the NFL in recent years, but put his religion on the Lamar Jackson-led Ravens.
“We are thrilled to welcome Governor Kelly’s Chiefs to Baltimore for the AFC Championship this weekend,” Governor Moore said in a statement. “Governor Kelly has a track record when it comes to those bets, but I think our Ravens led the way in this year’s competition. “Undisputed MVP Lamar Jackson will break the streak this year!And, if they do, we’ll benefit. Gov. Kelly trusted, perhaps too much, her response.
“I appreciate Governor Moore’s hospitality, but I hope he doesn’t give me a welcoming hand after the Chiefs beat the Baltimore Ravens this weekend,” Kelly said. “With six direct appearances in the AFC Championship, it’s clear that Andy Reid, Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce are winners, and I’m sure I’ll be enjoying Crust Through Mack crab cakes very soon. “
The winner of Sunday’s game will go to Super Bowl LVIII to face the winner of the NFC Championship Game in Las Vegas.
