Coventry City manager Mark Robins praised Ben Sheaf over the club official after signing him from Arsenal.
As announced on Coventry’s official website, the Sky Blues signed Sheaf on a one-season loan agreement with Premier League Arsenal.
The promoted league club will also have the possibility to make the loan contract permanent at the end of the 2020-2021 campaign.
Coventry manager Robins is pleased to have hired the 22-year-old midfielder, and the young man himself is very happy to have joined the club.
Robins told Coventry’s official online page about Sheaf: “He is a player with wonderful pedigree and wonderful skills, who will climb our team for the upcoming championship season.
“He has a smart physical presence and a football brain too, and he will be a genuine asset to us during the campaign.”
Sheaf told Coventry’s official website: “The coach expects me to dictate the game and associate the baseline with the strikers and I like to think I’m smart about it and he needs me to give everything for my team like I did last season.. I’m on the hunt to win the championship.”
Great season to come
Coventry won league one promotion at the end of last season, and will be a season for manager Robins and his men in the championship.
The 22-year-old is a very intelligent and promising young midfielder who already enjoys a great experience in first-team football. He had loan terms at Stevenage and Doncaster Rovers.
Sheaf will have to work hard to identify himself in Coventry’s first team, but there is a chance he will do so and have at least one successful season on a non-public level.
