Hundreds of jobs will be lost and dozens of pubs will close in Greene King after 10 p. m. curfew and coronavirus blockage have decimated the custom.
The company, which has more than 3,000 bars across the country, presented a consultation with 800 workers on a dismissal process.
The heads of the Suffolk-based company, which has only 1,700 controlled bars and 1,000 rented premises, should relocate those involved whenever possible.

Greene King spokesman said: “The continued tightening of industry restrictions on pubs, which can last only six months, as well as adjustments to government support, would still make it difficult for some of our pubs to reopen.
