Harry Kane says he is paying attention to the ongoing hypothesis at Tottenham.
Kane scored the only goal of the match against Crystal Palace on Saturday to overtake Wayne Rooney as the second top scorer in Premier League history, sending Spurs into sixth position and boosting their European qualification hopes.
Reports suggest Tottenham have been encouraged in their search for former Bayern head coach Julian Nagelsmann as Antonio Conte’s permanent successor, but Kane has avoided any discussion of what to do next for Spurs.
“It depends on the club,” Kane said when asked about recent speculation.
“If I finish talking to the president towards the end of the season, I’m sure he’s going to tell me what he thinks, but at the end of the day we still have 3 games left.
“We don’t need to look too far ahead or let ourselves go. The club will make the most productive resolution for everyone, the players, the fans, the club in general and we just have to wait and see what it is. “
The win over Palace was Ryan Mason’s first win in his time stint at work, with Brighton just two problems behind Spurs in sixth place with three games to go.
Kane revealed that his former teammate, Mason, had made some tactical changes for Palace that were imperative for Spurs to stay on the slate and get back on the winning path.
“To his credit, it was his first genuine week,” Kane said. “Last week wasn’t a week because we played two games in 4 days.
“It’s their first full week of education and preparation. He replaced the no-ball formula to 4-4-2 and then with the ball to get back to what we’re used to with the 3-4-3, but to stay on the ball a little longer, have more patience and don’t force it to move so fast.
“I think we control a lot of the game. I still think that we lack a little confidence in certain spaces that tighten in tight spaces.
“But all credit goes to Ryan for making those decisions and I’m satisfied that we were able to win and stay like a blank sheet. “
Kane said Mason, who is the youngest head manager to operate in the Premier League lately, has a dressing room that is absolutely him as Spurs look to end their season on a higher note.
Asked if Mason would be fit to take on the task permanently, Kane said: “We are all him. We know that the club is in a situation, which I mentioned, to recover some of the values. I feel like Ryan brings all those attributes.
“He went through the academy, he knows what it’s like as a fan, to play here, with this attitude and desire. He brings wonderful enthusiasm to the coaching role here.
“At the end of the day, it will be up to the president and the club to decide, but for those 3 games we are totally him to improve, see to win and see what happens. “
Last month, Ralf Rangnick advised Nagelsmann to opt for Tottenham’s job.
The former Manchester United manager, who coached Nagelsmann at Hoffenheim and RB Leipzig, believes Spurs have the right setup; However, he would gain advantages from a sports director with him.
Rangnick sporting director of the Red Bull club franchise, adding Leipzig and Salzburg, between 2012 and 2015 and return from 2019 to 2020.
“I Tottenham is an exciting club in many ways,” Rangnick told Sky Germany.
“They have one of the most modern and beautiful stadiums in the world right now. They have one of the most productive education centres, which is there at the moment and Daniel Levy, who has been at the helm of the club for many, many years.
“Although he spends a lot, he knows the football business and would put himself in the middle of the cameras.
“If Tottenham really need him, I think it would be vital for a sporting director to be there to help him. “
“It can be a very, very exciting story. There’s room for improvement, plenty of room for improvement and yet this is a club where space expects you to be in one or two more sensible right away. “
