A court on the Greek island of Syros found that Manchester United star Harry Maguire is guilty of nuisance assault, resistance to arrest and corruption, according to Helena Smith of the Guardian.
According to Martha Kelner of Sky News, Maguire was sentenced to 21 months and 10 days in prison. However, the sentence will be suspended because it was Maguire’s first offence and the fees were misdemeanors.
Maguire was allegedly concerned in a physical altercation in Mykonos that “erupted after enthusiastic rivals publicly mocked the footballer one day of over-drinking at a beach bar on the famous party island,” according to Smith.
Maguire then allegedly led an officer who had tried to break the fight and then tried to bribe the agents in exchange for his release.
