Bayer Leverkusen has not won any prizes for Kai Havertz despite persistent assumptions linking him to Chelsea, sports director Simon Rolfes revealed.
Havertz, 21, has been a revelation in the Bundesliga since he was 17 in the 2016–17 campaign.
The midfielder, who has played an attacking role for more than two years, has scored 29 bundesliga goals since the start of the 2018-2019 campaign, while his 12 this season has been accompanied by six assists.
The widespread hypothesis suggests that he is unlikely to stay with Leverkusen, who failed to qualify for the Champions League next quarter, while Chelsea have reportedly favorited for his signing.
Leverkusen is reportedly not easy for at least millions of euros (70 million pounds) for the German international, whose national team colleague Timo Werner has already moved to Stamford Bridge.
But Rolfes, a former Leverkusen midfielder who is now aware of the club’s sporting decisions, insists that no club has made an offer for Havertz.
“So we don’t have any offers,” Rolfes told Sky Germany.”We know the interest of clubs, but there is no official offer.”
“We’ve said several times that we’ll finish the season with our entire team, and that includes Kai.Needless to say for us.”
Although the Bundesliga season is over, with Leverkusen in fifth place, Die Werkself is in the Europa League.
They will face Rangers at home next Thursday on the return of their last 16 games, having won 3-1 in Scotland five months ago, before the coronavirus pandemic set a transitory end to European football.
If he beats Rangers, Leverkusen will face Inter or Getafe in the quarter-finals.
At this stage, the festival will become a mini tour consisting of one-legged draws, which the same old two-stage festivals, after UEFA moved the final stages to impartial venues in Germany due to the pandemic.
