Heber scores in the lead for NYCFC to beat Revolution 2-0

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) – Heber Araujo dos Santos scored his first goal of the season, Sean Johnson made 3 saves and New York City FC beat the New England Revolution 2-0 on Wednesday night.

Heber pitched a Ronald Matarrita corner to the post to put the 2-0 in the 72nd minute.

New York City (4-5-0) has won three games directly and 4 of its last after opening the season with four direct losses.

New England (2-2-5) has a multi-goal game this season: a 2–1 win over DC United on August 25.

A purpose contrary to that of Michael Mancienne of Revolution opened the scoring in the 60th minute.
