Edinson Cavani has revealed a last-minute verbal exchange with former Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera, who convinced him to move to Old Trafford.
The prolific striker has put an end to a long hypothesis about his long career by signing for United on the day of the move-in deadline following his departure from Paris Saint-Germain.
The 33-year-old connected with several other clubs, joining Atletico Madrid, Benfica and Leeds, before opting for United.
He revealed that Herrera’s recommendation, with whom he had played in Paris, played a role in his final decision.

Cavani has scored 341 goals in 556 games in his club career and is looking for the opportunity to perform in the Premier League.
After signing a one-year contract with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team, he was awarded the number seven shirt in the past worn by club greats George Best, Eric Cantona, David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo.
