LSU defeated South Carolina 52-24 on Saturday night at Tiger Stadium. See the highlights of LSU Athletics as the Tigers decided on TJ Finley’s first start in purple and gold.
During the game, LSU did not kick and was able to make his way with the Gamecocks. Head coach Ed Orgeron more than satisfied with the game plan developed through offensive coordinator Steve Ensminger for Finley.
“They played a four-player front and there wasn’t much blitz. I think there would be a blitz flood and there wouldn’t be any,” Orgeron told reporters after the game. “I think Steve Ensminger did a smart task with the RPO, the earrings and the simple pitches for TJ and what game Terrance Marshall did. Third and sixth and a six-yard gain (and he scored). Our boys played games and I was happy to see you.
“He was patient with TJ. He did a smart job of having those guys . . . we had the two shifts that took representatives all week. Idea that Coach Ensminger did a smart task by making plans all week. , had a wonderful game plan. Coach Ensminger is a wonderful Tiger, a wonderful player here and a wonderful coach. “

The Tigers now have 11 consecutive games with at least 30 problems dating back to Alabama last season. It is the 23rd consecutive game in which LSU had at least one landing pass and had a 100-yard runner or a 100-yard catcher in 11 consecutive games.
