Bayern Munich’s understudy manager Sebastian Hoeness, where his uncle Uli is honorary president, will take over at Hoffenheim, announced the Bundesliga club on Monday.
Hoffenheim said the 38-year-old man, who is also the son of hertha Berlin’s former boss, Dieter, signed until June 2023.
Sebastian Hoeness has taken Bayern reserves to a third apartment name this season.
“Sebastian has shown impressively that he can exercise young players in a difficult unit and expand them individually. He chose an offensive technique that is not only exciting but also extremely successful,” Hoffenheim’s sporting director Alexander Rosen said in a statement.
Hoeness succeeds Dutchman Alfred Schreuder, who was sacked in June after a series of poor performances for the club of billionaire Dietmar Hopp.
Under the direction of an interim six-man training team, Hoffenheim has won his last 3 games to take sixth position and one position in the Europa League.
Hoeness, who played three games for Hoffenheim while the club was still in the 3rd division, will start running with the team since pre-season education began on 2 August.
“Working at Hoffenheim is a wonderful challenge, which I look forward to. The fundamental philosophy of the club is the same as my concept of football: offensive, courageous, flexible and active,” said the new coach, who brings another. Bayern coach David Krecidlo as assistant.
