BERLIN (AP) — Croatian striker Andrej Kramaric scored a goal and Hoffenheim snapped a four-game winless streak with a 3-1 win over Bochum in the Bundesliga on Friday night.
Before the match, Hoffenheim had suffered 4 problems at home, the fewest of 18 German clubs.
But they were the hungrier of the two groups from the start and took the lead in the 32nd minute, albeit thanks to a stroke of luck. Dutch striker Wout Weghorst caught an attractive pass from Kramaric and, his shot was stopped, hit the target. Bochum defender Erhan Mašović bounced off the line.
Kramaric returned 11 minutes later as Hoffenheim doubled their lead. He received a low cross from the right and deflected perfectly past the Bochum defence before scoring from close range.
Bochum came on more in the second half, but five of their 22 shots were on target and substitute Ihlas Bebou sealed the game for the hosts with the third goal 14 minutes from time.
Gonçalo Paciência scored a comfortable goal for Bochum with a very good volley in the 90th minute.
The result left sixth-placed Hoffenheim two points behind fifth-placed Borussia Dortmund. Dortmund will face RB Lepizig at home on Saturday.
Bochum remained in 12th.
