The last time Hoffenheim tasted victory in all competitions was on October 28. Since then, it has been a sadness for them, eliminated from the DFB Cup by Borussia Dortmund and without a Bundesliga win since that 3-2 win in Stuttgart.
Most recently, the hosts suffered a disappointing defeat to Borussia Mönchengladbach, eventually losing 2-1. After being outplayed by Wout Weghorst on the hour mark, they conceded what eventually proved to be the winner ten minutes from time.
Bochum
Bochum have risen up the table in recent weeks following a very impressive unbeaten run, which has extended to five league games since their hard-fought 2-1 loss at the hands of Freiburg. Most recently they defeated Wolfsburg 3-1 at home, which has taken them up to 12th-place in the table with a good opportunity to push towards the top half.
After leading Wolfsburg 2-1 at half-time, Bochum showed perfect composure and control of the game in the second half, despite taking all three points with just minutes left in regulation time.
