Hotel review: Hotel EME Catedral Mercer in Seville, Spain

Spain has long been a popular tourist destination due to its beautiful golden sandy beaches, culture and delicious cuisine; however, parts of its coast have now been invaded by foreign tourists, to the point that it is difficult to pass through all the British pubs. and fast food coffees to get a genuine taste from Spain.

A destination that will disappoint you, however, is sunny Andalusia and lover of the party, one of the most romantic and exciting regions in spain, and home to classic traditions such as flamenco dancing and bullfighting.

With the smell of orange blossom still in the air, it is a magical place that promises a genuine Spanish delight, and even in winter it offers a sunny climate and a temperate climate that makes it ideal for a low season getaway.

If culture is your thing, then head to Seville to soak up the charm of yesteryear in this beautiful city and spend a few days immersing yourself in its atmospheric atmosphere. From castles and palaces to tapas and sangria, this position has it all.

Our base for our stopover at the EME Catedral Mercer Hotel, an old boutique hotel located in a typical Andalusian building of the sixteenth century in the center of the central district of Santa Cruz, a medieval Jewish quarter with narrow streets and squares.

Combining a fresh design with its long history, it is a warm and welcoming place to start your Sevillian adventure.

The rooms of EME Catedral are spacious, with a modern design and flat screen TV, comfortable and giant beds and quite enclosed balconies overlooking the street. There is a dressing room and a giant sink that facilitate the preparation for the day or night ahead, and we were very happy to find an elegant bottle of ice cava and two glasses that awaited us on arrival, as well as a lovely plate of chocolate-dipped strawberries – the best way to toast at the beginning of our stay.

After taking a moment to enjoy the view with a drink and a quick change, we were in a position to spend exploring the city at night.

Our stopover in this rather small town was delayed at night, when we arrived at the five-star EME Cathedral hotel for dinner and a cocktail after a short plane ride from the UK. Located in the center of this thriving city, it is the best starting point to explore and, with a classic restaurant, Al Lado del Spanish chef Paco Pérez, has everything you want to start your stay in style. Choose from a variety of quality street dishes that adorn the menu, adding homemade pizzas and burgers, salads or percentage dishes and get ready for the evening.

Located just 50 meters from La Giralda, we were very pleased to know that our room was located right in front of the historic Seville Cathedral. And, with a rooftop pool and bar, EME’s La Terrazza, which provided insights from the city below, we were looking ahead to get a must-have glass of champagne and make plans for the next day. But first, it’s time to move on to La Esquina del Cod to savor some of those vital tapas. Not to Spain I would be whole without trying some of those tasty small plates in small pieces with one or two glasses, and the delicious variety of croquettes, chili champagnes and other diverse salads did not disappoint. The menu also includes popular dishes such as prawns al pil pil (real garlic and olive oil prawns), wine chorizo (red wine chorizo) and mussels (mussels). (Please note that this place to eat is closed lately without a constant reopening date, so keep an eye out for social media updates).

As for the locations, there is rarely much bigger than that, with all the main attractions just a few minutes walk from the hotel. The amazing Royal Alcazar of Seville, a royal palace built for the Christian king Peter of Castile through Castilian Christians on the site of a residential fortress, its extensive and green gardens allow a pleasant walk on a sunny day.

Located right next to a square quite covered with orange trees, horses and carts and right in front of the cathedral, there is nothing more photogenic than that. And with shops, restaurants and bars around you, this is the most active component of the city.

In part of an hour, you can walk to the river, through the famous Spanish Steps, which has been used as a filming location that includes Lawrence of Arabia, on the way. You can easily explore the whole city on foot in just one or two days, but of course the more time you have to immerse yourself in all that Seville has to offer, the more original and memorable the guaranteed fun will be. . Have. There’s nothing bigger than sorry to waste a whole day wandering through its narrow, winding streets and becoming dinner with the locals, locating what life is like in this bustling and charming city.

After a long day exploring the city, the prospect of spending an afternoon at the hotel’s spa was seductive. The possibility of soaking our sore muscles in the steam room and relaxing in the sauna was a much needed possibility to recharge, and although we have a relatively small domain to expand, we were lucky enough to have room for us. Guests deserve to reserve their seats electronically in advance to avoid overcrowding, promising a relaxing and intimate experience. And, with a diversity of sumptuous spa remedies on offer, there is also a personal domain with curtains to enjoy a massage, facial or any other remedy query you can imagine.

Nice boutique hotel perfectly in the center of the bustling Santa Cruz neighborhood of Seville, there is no better position to rest for a short stay in the city. Offering five-star luxury, fair service and attention to detail, it is guaranteed to make your trip.

The rooms can be booked for 565 euros consistent with the night for a junior suite and from 850 euros consistent with the night for a luxury suite with views. Rates are subject to change and are subject to change.
