England’s first nomination outside the UK and the first to deliver a silver main piece for the women’s team, Wiegman led England to good fortune in the European Championship and UEFA Super Cup vs CONMEBOL, however, the World Cup would be the greatest achievement of his tenure.
Wiegman made 104 appearances for the Dutch national team and played her entire senior career with Ter Leede, where she won two Dutch championships, before coaching with them in 2006.
After successes with ADO Den Haag, adding an Eredivisie name in 2012, Wiegman joined the Dutch national team, first as an assistant manager in 2014, as head coach in 2017.
During her tenure as coach of the Netherlands, she won the 2017 European Championship and led her team to the 2019 World Cup final, where they lost 2-0 to the United States.

Haiti’s national team travelled to Auckland just days after the Court of Arbitration for Sport overturned FIFA’s lifetime ban on Yves Jean-Bart, the former president of the Haitian Football Federation. In November 2020, he was sanctioned through FIFA for alleged sexual harassment and abuse of female players.
FIFPro, the players’ union, criticised the CAS’s decision, saying in a statement: “In light of the serious, specific and widely documented threats earned by those invited to testify, and the fact that the CAS did not provide fundamental cover of anonymity such as voice distortion, how do you foresee that it will be to download evidence good enough to detect the alleged perpetrators?”
Jean-Bart accused them of “baseless and maliciously motivated defamation”.
He will be tried in Haiti in reaction to allegations of sexual abuse after activists won the right to appeal against a prosecutor’s decision to drop the case.

Haiti scored victories over Chile in impressive fashion to secure an unlikely spot at the World Cup through the intercontinental playoffs.
Melchie Dumornay, new signing of Olympique Lyonnais, almost perpetual winner of the Champions League, scored the first goal with a hard goal just before halftime, finished with a backflip in celebration.
After Nerilia Mondesir saw her penalty stopped in the 89th through Isidora Olave, the momentum may have tipped against the Haitians, but Mondesir remained calm to set Dumornay up for her moment of the game in the 98th minute with a low shot.
Chile kept fighting, scoring notably in the 101st minute, but Haiti went along to secure their first World Cup qualification.

In order not to get too far ahead, although England is the most sensible in Group D, it will be the runners-up of Group B who will be waiting for us in the knockout stages.
Group B is very balanced. Currently, Australia ranks first, Ireland last and the duo of Canada and Nigeria are in the middle with one point as expected.
Canada was awarded Nigeria’s biggest and would have won the match had it not been for the heroism of Chiamaka Nnadozie to deny Christine Sinclair.
If England finish the moment in the organization, they will face the champions of the organization, which would probably mean a difficult draw against Australia.
If England face the United States, it will have to be in the final.

Host to England’s first setting and built over North Brisbane Cemetery, Brisbane Stadium, as well as housing the Brisbane Roar, Brisbane Stadium is also home to several rugby teams.
Host of Australia’s 2015 AFC Asian Cup triumph, the hosts secured their place in the semi-finals at Brisbane Stadium thanks to Tim Cahill’s brace against China in front of 46,000 spectators.
In particular, the stadium was visited each and every year by the famous Australian circus Wirths and when its star attraction, Carley the Elephant, died in 1956, he buried it in the ground. . .

Hosted in Australia and New Zealand, the 2023 World Cup is the first women’s edition of the tournament to be held in multiple countries.
It is also the first World Cup, male or female, to be held in two FIFA confederations, as Australia is a member of the Asian confederation, while New Zealand is part of the Oceania confederation.
Both nations were originally members of the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) but, in 2005, Australia implemented the switch to the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) in a bid to increase their chances of achieving the World Cup and Australian regulation football.
The resolution was accepted by all parties involved in 2006 and Australia has entered the AFC ranking ever since, leaving New Zealand with a loose streak in the OFC rankings.
