How to manage permissions in the Microsoft Edge browser

The Chromium-based Microsoft Edge browser allows the user to customize the permissions granted to a specific website. This includes employing other APIs to offload the user knowledge needed for the page to work. This also includes the use of plugins installed on the computer or built-in. in the browser code.

Manage permissions in Microsoft Edge

There are two main spaces that we need to review if we want to manage permissions in the Edge browser: Manage permissions as a total for all websites. Manage permissions for a specific website. 1] Manage permissions for a set

Open the new Microsoft Edge browser and the menu button indicated by 3 horizontal dots at the top right of the window.

Select Settings. In the left-side navigation pane, Site Permissions.

You can also type this into the face bar and press Enter:

borde://paramètres/contenu

You will get a list of permissions that the browser offers to a website. It includes the following:

Cookies. Location. Camera. Microphone. Motion or light sensors. Notifications. JavaScript. Flash. Images. Pop-ups and redirects. Background synchronization. Automatic downloads. No sandbox for the add-in. Controllers. MIDI devices. Zoom levels. USB devices. PDF documents. Protected content. Clipboard. Payment processors.

This is a huge list of permissions presented through Microsoft Edge.

You can choose all options to encrypt permissions for any online page that a user accesses from the browser. 2] Manage site permissions for a specific online page

Open the webpage for which you want to customize permissions and the lock icon on the left side of the address bar.

You’ll see a conversation like this:

You can now replace recently requested permissions through the online page or simply site permissions.

This will open a new tab and for that specific website, you will be able to get traditional permissions.

You can even hit the Reset Permissions button at the back of the screen to reset all permissions for a specific online page to their defaults.
