Manchester United are set to face off against a struggling Southampton this evening, with both teams eager to secure a win in the Premier League.
United, fresh from their FA Cup victory over Arsenal, are in a position to take on the players at the back of the league. The Red Devils, under coach Rubén Amorim, had to endure a fierce shootout penalties to secure their position in the fourth round after a grueling 120-minute period that ended in a 1-1 draw. They are reduced to 10 men.
Although Arsenal lost a penalty in normal time, Amorim would have pleased the resistance and determination of his team to ensure victory. It marks the consecutive moment, after an impressive 2-2 draw with the Archirrival Liverpool, where United showed a tenacity point that enthusiasts have not noticed in much time.
However, they have tasted victory in the league since their mid-December triumph over Manchester City.
On the other hand, Southampton continues to proceed with their first Premier League win under new manager Ivan Juric. Losses opposite West Ham and Crystal Palace, related to a crushing 5-0 defeat at home opposite Brentford, began to begin for the former Torino and Roma manager at St Mary’s, the mirror reports.
