Aston Villa continue their European tour on Tuesday night when they travel to Germany to face RB Leipzig on matchday five of the Champions League. Villa have suffered ten problems in their five organisational games so far, with three more games remaining, the first of them against their Bundesliga hosts this week.
Leipzig, heralded as one of the better performing German teams – both domestically and continentally – in recent years, have by comparison struggled desperately at Europe’s top table this season; while Villa sit in ninth and in a strong position to advance, Leipzig are one of three clubs – along with Slovan Bratislava and Young Boys – to lose all five of their games up to this point, despite being in pot one of the draw.
However, they are fourth in the Bundesliga, having returned to winning tactics at the weekend by beating Holston Kiel 2-0, but will most likely be without seven first-team players on Tuesday due to a combination of suspensions and injuries. Training

Xavi Simons is expected to miss the match as he continues to suffer from an ankle ligament injury last October. David Raum is now running for the first time since also injuring his ankle ligament, but may also miss the game.
Castello Lukeba is suspended after picking up his third yellow card in the league in the defeat to Inter and remains injured, while Yussuf Poulsen, Assan Ouedraogo and El Chadaille Bitshiabu are absent. Eljif Elmas is also expected to miss the game.
The game has been selected for live coverage by Amazon Prime Video, who have had access to selected Champions League matches this season once again. While Villa supporters have become accustomed to seeing their side on TNT Sports, they’ll have to have access to Amazon – as they did when they beat Brentford last week – if they wish to watch Villa in action in Germany.
The game can be streamed through the Amazon Prime Video app, which is available on all platforms, whether it’s on your phone, tablet, TV, or laptop. You can discover more details by clicking here. You can also watch it via TNT. Sports Box Office – Sky Channel 490 – which was incorporated into Amazon’s pay-per-view service when it struck a deal with Warner Bros Discovery. Amazon has signed a three-year, £1. 5 billion deal with UEFA to have a variety of Tuesday matches.
