Howe is concerned as Real Madrid ‘send scouts’ to keep an eye on Newcastle duo and Kylian Mbappe on Wednesday

Real Madrid will reportedly send scouts to monitor two Newcastles when they face Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League on Wednesday.

The Magpies have enjoyed a start to the season, picking up 4 wins and squandering 3 of their first seven Premier League games so far.

Eddie Howe hopes his team can finish in the top four this season and be able to compete for a trophy.

They beat Manchester City on Wednesday in the League Cup, a festival in which they reached the top flight last season.

But what is more important for Newcastle will be to retain their most productive players.

According to a report from Spanish outlet Defensa Central, Real Madrid scouts will be keeping an eye on Alexander Isak and Bruno Guimaraes when Newcastle take on PSG.

The duo are two of the most important players for Howe, so wasting them would be a huge blow to Newcastle.

Real Madrid, however, would have to pay huge sums to sign Isak and Guimaraes.

As mentioned, Real Madrid scouts will be on hand to watch Newcastle take on PSG on Wednesday in what could be a memorable evening at St James’ Park.

According to Central Defender, Kylian Mbappe, who has long been credited with a move to the Bernabeu, will be on their radar along with Isak and Guimaraes.

Mbappe sent a letter to PSG in June informing them that he would terminate his contract, which expires at the end of this season.

La Liga president Javier Tebas said last month he was “sure” Mbappe would end up in Madrid. “Convinced, convinced, no,” Tebas told Movistar Plus. But for him it’s destiny, that’s for sure. Next year, it will be more than 70 to 80 percent.

It is also said that Isak and Guimaraes are “on Real Madrid’s schedule” and need to “follow them in a great game”.

Isak signed for Newcastle in August 2022 for a club-record payment of £63m. The 24-year-old has made 35 appearances for the Magpies, scoring 15 goals and providing 3 assists.

It is expected that as he earns he will enjoy himself at the highest level, so Newcastle will most likely ask for a payment well in excess of the £63 million they paid for him.

Guimaraes has played a prominent role in Newcastle’s good fortunes since his takeover. The midfielder is expected to sign a new contract soon, although it is expected to come with a £100 million release clause.

Liverpool, Chelsea and now Real Madrid are believed to be interested in Guimaraes, but they will want to pay those fees if they want to have any chance of moving him away from Newcastle.

What is clear, however, is that Real Madrid appreciate Isak and Guimaraes, so it would not be unexpected to see them make an offer for at least one of the two in the future.
