HS Football Championships Leaving Bryant-Denny and Jordan-Hare

The University of Alabama’s Bryant-Denny Stadium and Auburn University’s Jordan-Hare Stadium have been removed from the Super 7 High School Football Championship site rotation, according to the Alabama High School Athletic Association ( AHSAA).

The expansion of the school football playoffs may mean that Bryant-Denny and Jordan-Hare will host playoff games in the future, which would clash with the Super 7.

“We are grateful to the cities of Tuscaloosa, Auburn and Opelika, Auburn University, the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa Tourism and Sports and Auburn-Opelika Tourism for coming together to host our Super 7 since the rotation began in 2009,” said the AHSAA Director. Director Alvin Briggs. The reports and memories presented to our schools, teams, scholars, and member communities have been immeasurable. However, we sense conflicts that will be inevitable in the long run due to the expanded design and format of the CFA playoffs.

Birmingham’s Protective Stadium will remain in the rotation and AHSAA has other options as well, according to Briggs.
