Huge fire burns near St Mary’s Stadium in Southampton

Firefighters rushed to extinguish a blaze near Southampton FC’s St Mary’s football stadium.

In the video, a large plume of black smoke is seen coming out of a warehouse right next to the stadium and casting a large shadow over the field.

18 fire trucks and police officers are at the scene.

It’s unclear lately whether the fireplace will fit into tonight’s schedule compared to Preston North End, which starts at 7. 45pm.

A spokesperson for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Services said: “Lately, crews are witnessing a fire at Marine Parade Southampton.

“The first call came at 1:05 p. m. The fire affected commercial premises near the St Mary’s football stadium.

“There are currently eight combustion engines, two aerial painting platforms and specialized vehicles on site.

“Residents in the area should keep doors and windows closed because of the amount of smoke.

“Some roads near the incident are closed and others are asked to come to the area to allow emergency vehicle traffic. “
