Mats Hummels believes that Roma “are getting to know each other better” and assures that he is in no rush to negotiate a new contract. “I just need to enjoy football, there is no pressure. “

Barely off the bench in the Ivan Juric era, Hummels was practically an outsider during the first months of that experience, but he has flourished since the arrival of Claudio Ranieri.
“Of course I’m lucky to be on the pitch, we also played well and succeeded as a team. The last 4 or 5 weeks have been smart for us,” Hummels told Sky Sport Italia.
“Now we have to continue like this and I hope to be able to contribute once again to the team’s good fortune. In fact, we are getting to know each other better now and that is helping us as a team.
Roma are hoping to ride the wave of enthusiasm after their 2-0 victory over rivals Lazio in the Derby della Capitale, but this is a tricky trip to a Bologna side they beat 3-2 back in November.
“Bologna is a very good team. They also had problems in the first part of the season, but they have many players and we already experienced that in Rome.
“I expect a really good performance today, where you need to give your best to get all three points.”
The 36-year-old World Cup winner is a free agent who had also been in talks with Bologna before opting to sign for Roma, but his contract only lasts until June 30.
Hummels was asked if there were negotiations for a possible extension at the Stadio Olimpico.
“Nothing so far. I think it’s my tenth game, so I just need to play well for the club. In a few weeks or months we can start talking about it, but for now I just need to play and enjoy. “I need to enjoy football, you don’t have to make an effort at it,” Hummels concluded.
