Chelsea’s new signing Marc Guiu believes Enzo Maresca is the most sensible manager and believes the Blues can win many trophies under the Italian’s management.

Chelsea officially announced Guiu on Monday afternoon, when the 18-year-old finalised his move from Barcelona and signed a five-year contract with the club for a further year at Stamford Bridge.

The teenager becomes the club’s fourth signing after Tosin Adarabioyo, Omari Kellyman and Estevao Willian, with Leicester midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall being the fifth.

Guiu will compete with Nicolas Jackson, but Chelsea are reportedly yet to sign another striker in the window, meaning it is not yet clear where the striker will play next season.

Guiu is expected to evaluate the club’s pre-season tour of America at the end of the month via Maresca before a final decision is made on whether he will be part of the first team for next season.

Guiu revealed that he has had the opportunity to speak with Maresca since he arrived at the club and believes that he is a very sensible coach.

“Yes, I had the opportunity to speak to him and I am very grateful and appreciate him for taking the time to reach out to me,” he told Chelsea’s official website.

“I think he’s a very sensible manager and he’s done a job at Leicester, selling the team in the Premier League.

“I think we will play football under his leadership and we will be able to win many trophies. “

Guiu rose through the ranks of Barcelona’s famed La Masia academy and broke into the first team last season Xavi, making seven appearances and scoring two goals.

The striker made an unforgettable debut by scoring after 23 seconds off the bench against Athletic Bilbao, and also scored against Belgian side Royal Antwerp in the Champions League, and will no doubt be hoping to mirror his goalscoring exploits with Les Bleus.
