Ibrox Noise was a little amused when our resources informed us that a Rangers rumor site was attacking us, so naturally we had to take a quick look at what they were saying.
Apparently, according to the poster, someone named “Steven McGinn” was writing fiction about Todd Cantwell and claiming that the boy was going to be sold. So we looked at this McGinn guy for a moment, when all we could also locate were radio quotes from Falkirk’s captain. “Stephen McGinn” is quoted on a radio show as suggesting that Cantwell has struggled this season and possibly wouldn’t be one of Clement’s favorites. This is not far-fetched, many enthusiasts have said the same thing. It’s just your opinion, whatever it may be.
That was roughly the extent of what we can find about his “baseless” fiction and his “attack” on Cantwell: it was what the poster called shameful, devoid of substance, and that “the writer” had no contact or evidence of his accusation. . Sources and Complaints. You know, to give a little opinion on the radio. . . I don’t know who “writes” anything, but there you have it.
The next thing we know, our source was right and we, Ibrox Noise, were being slaughtered, because this guy (McGinn?) supposedly writes for Ibrox Noise; it’s news to usArray, we still don’t know who this site was. And there’s no one here by that name.
Then we see something about bragging that it has its own clickbait site, but we don’t know it, we’ve tuned out this general nonsense right now.
What we saw McGinn, Falkirk’s current captain, quote him in Ibrox News via this radio interview: yes, we don’t, Noise, but News, the genuine, mindless clickbait site that runs only on behalf of the Rangers and who doesn’t care what’s going on. Go ahead. Much better for our club. The article in question was written by one “Dan Carter”. Was he the target of the attack? Who knows. . .
And it wouldn’t be the first time Ibrox Noise has found itself in the crosshairs of other people who slaughter News and can’t tell the difference between the two sites at all.
Because, as we all know, “Rangers Review” and “Rangers On Tour” are also easy to confuse, right?
Yes, there’s a funny lack of consistency that Ibrox Noise has surely been ridiculed by everyone, because they can’t say that the general nonsense coming from the Ibrox News site is something surely separate and unrelated running through aggregators and paid content writers. In fact, we’re through the enthusiasts and for the enthusiasts, and our ever-growing audience on Facebook appreciates that.
So we’re getting a lot of abuse for things we didn’t do. That’s fair enough, if punters check out our content, we’re big kids and women on the site, we can take it seriously if someone disagrees with an article. But attacking us for someone else’s nonsense?! Wonderful.
What we do know is that our sane audience knows who we are and what we do, and those other sites can slaughter us into other sites’ trash if they want to.
But every once in a while we’ll publish an article like this to remind you that we’re not Ibrox News and that ‘Steven McGinn’ doesn’t write for us.
But we know that if you have some brain cells, you already know that. . . .
