I’m satisfied: Antonin Kinsky couldn’t have asked for a better debut at Tottenham

New Tottenham goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky confessed his debut in a 1-0 Carabao Cup victory over Liverpool was beyond his wildest dreams.

Kinsky ended only a permanent pass to the Spurs on Sunday through Slavia Praga, but spent Wednesday through Ange Postcoglou and played to give his new club a slight merit in the semifinals.

The 21 -year -old made two key stops to save Liverpool’s substitute, Darwin Núñez, in the second half, on both sides of Lucas Bergvall’s victory goal in the 86th minute, before kissing his sister in the stands Full time after Tottenham endured the victory.

“Yes, I would say a win against Liverpool, in the Carabao semi-finals, one-0 with the white sheet, is a smart start,” smiled Kinsky.

“I am a great dreamer but with my legs on earth. I had probably not had this dream so far, so I am very satisfied to delight with him.

“I’m so pleased that my circle of relatives is here and they’ve noticed it. I am satisfied for them.

Given that Kinsky played 29 times for Slavia Prague this season and kept 14 clean sheets, it was a great move for Postecoglou to promptly slot his new signing into a makeshift defense consisting of veteran Fraser Forster and Brandon Austin, who have inspired Newcastle on Saturday.

However, it paid dividends with Kinsky’s calmness in possession being greater than that of his Czech Republic youth international team colleagues, who were more than happy to play out from the back.

Kinsky was saved for Tottenham goalkeeping coach Rob Burch as he reflects on his dream debut.

Yes, I would say the first half was average, but in the second half I felt confident and that’s how I have to play later.

He told Spursplay: “I like to play a lot. I would say with confidence, but I don’t like to take risks. I think there is a difference between playing smart, playing with confidence and playing with risk.

“I arrive three days ago. I had two trainings, one full with the team and one with the goalkeeper coach, so I was slowly getting to know the pace.

“Yes, in the first half I would say it was normal, but in the second half I felt confident and that’s how I have to play later on.

“I have to say that the guys helped me a lot in the game because they were looking to play. They were also confident.

“I also have to mention the coaches, everyone and especially the goalkeeper coach who spoke to me a lot, who gave me the vision of what the game was like and the Premier League and now Carabao.

“It helped me a lot that he had this data and that I can paint with him.

“I fortunate that I had the possibility to save them (from shots) and it n’t trash or anything like that, which occurs a lot in the Premier League because I watch it a lot.

“Happy for the total club because I will come, a great club, many other people worried and all are very pleasant. Everyone helped me so much that I felt safe from the beginning.

Meanwhile, Tottenham’s boxer, Rodrigo Bentancur, showed that “all good” after leaving the box on a stretcher after a sixth minute injury.

Bentancur wrote on his Instagram story: “All good, guys! Thank you for the messages. Congratulations for the victory boys!”
