Photographed here after winning the Yorkshire Oaks at the Ebor Festival in York three years ago, the filler has enjoyed an immediate ascent that has captivated the mind as the biggest can.
The horse trained by John Gosden, who comes from the Juddmonte Farms farm of owner Khalid Abdullah, has formed a formidable partnership with master jockey Frankie Dettori (also pictured).
Together they won Cheshire Oaks, Epsom Oaks, Irish Oaks and King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes, as well as their good fortune in York, before winning the Grand Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe in Longchamp.
He ran less in 2018 after an injury that returned before the end of the year to verify his position among the greatest of all time with a momentary victory at the Arc and a historic victory in the Breeders’ Cup Turf race in Louisville, Kentucky.
His bid for an unprecedented third-goal victory failed in 2019 but, after claiming a third single win at King George this year, he is expected to return to Paris to try this fall.
