Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has revealed his joy after sealing his 15 million pound move to Tottenham and said he would get ahead of the game at the club’s billion-pound stadium.
The 24-year-old, however, has put his pen on paper in a five-year contract with north London squad to become Jose Mourinho’s first summer signing.
Spurs right-back Kyle Walker-Peters, who joined the Saints on loan in January, has finished a permanent season at St Mary’s for 12 million pounds.
After weeks of negotiations between the two clubs, Hojbjerg is relieved to have finished his replacement and is already out for the first time at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
“How vital to me is that I sought to play in a club where I can see myself for many years and Tottenham just that,” he told the club’s official website.
“I am very proud, very happy, very excited. I think there’s a long way to go for the club and I sought to be such a component of that. “
“If you want to achieve the most productive things, you want to have 11 leaders on the court and to do that, everyone must assume the duty of their position, bringing everything they have to the team. I like to say,’Whatever you put in, you, go. ‘
Hojbjerg added that the game’s appeal week after week in one of the world’s top stadiums helped him make his decision.
“The Spurs have players, a manager and a setup,” he added.
“One of the first things I said to my wife was that I need to be the first in this stadium because it’s unreal, it’s one of the best, if not the best.
“The stadium is anything I can be proud of and now, the educational floor and the system, I’m proud to be a component of it and I need to give it my all. “
