Inter Milan already have an “advantage” at the time of the official opening of the Serie A transfer market.
This is reported in today’s print edition of the Roman newspaper Corriere dello Sport, FCInterNews.
Now that we are in July, the window is officially open in Serie A.
It’s as if the clubs haven’t taken care of their business in recent weeks.
But from an official and ceremonial point of view, that’s when things start to heat up.
For Inter, this summer will probably be different to the previous one.
Last time, the Nerazzurri experienced a long summer full of comings and goings. Twelve left and twelve arrived to take their place.
There have been dramatized soap operas, such as those of Romelu Lukaku and Lazar Samardzic.
Of course, the players will leave and arrive at Inter this summer, even if the turnover is as excessive as last summer.
But the goal this time is to remain the team that just won the Serie A title in dominant fashion.
And the additions that Inter will make have already been achieved.
Piotr Zielinski and Mehdi Taremi will get single transfers from Napoli and Porto respectively. They will be updated as Alexis Sanchez, Davy Klaassen and Stefano Sensi in the Inter squad.
And the Nerazzurri acted in advance to signal those two big loose transfers.
The agreements with both were already in force in January.
All that remains is to announce Zielinski and Taremi as Inter players.
Meanwhile, one of Inter’s most sensible priorities this summer has been to sign a new goalkeeper. They have tried to sign a young goalkeeper who could be Yann Sommer next season, before taking over the long-term role.
And it is Josep Martinez from Genoa who will already undergo medical examinations when he is transferred to Inter tomorrow.
Therefore, with 3 big signings, Inter will already see the intensity of their team. At least on paper.
And it is only the first of July.
Of course, there will be more cases to come.
Inter are chasing Albert Gudmundsson from Gênes. Et and Bologna’s Dan Ndoye is also on their radar, although if Denzel Dumfries leaves.
Inter may make some wonderful signings in the final days of the window, as happened with Alexis Sanchez and Davy Klaassen last summer.
But July and August will be action-packed for Inter, just like last time.
