Inter Milan and AC Milan are in favor of launching renovation plans for the San Siro, according to the latest data from the Italian press.

Firstly, both clubs intended to rebuild a new fashionable stadium on the same site. However, his initial plan was hampered by a series of bureaucratic obstacles.

This resulted in a ban on demolition of the existing stadium due to its ancient and cultural significance.

Consequently, the two clubs separated and each of them sought to build their own apartment on the outskirts of the city. Inter have known Rozzano as their new home while AC Milan have opted for San Donato.

However, Milan Mayor Beppe Sala insisted that both clubs remain within the city walls.

He proposed a new plan to renovate the existing Giuseppe Meazza stadium instead of building new ground.

In June, WeBuild presented Milan and Inter with a detailed project. The company is now waiting for the official reaction of the two Serie A giants, who are assessing the situation.

But according to Espresso FcInterNews, Milan and Inter are inclined to accept the proposal.

In the end they will be the owners of the San Siro stadium.

Furthermore, the renovation works will not prevent clubs from playing their home games at the Meazza. This will only cause

the partial closure of some sectors while the fans would still have access to the rest of the stadium.

WeBuild would begin concrete works in 2025 and aims to deliver the order in 2029.

The overall cost of the operation would be 350 million euros. This figure is lower than the initial plan for the new stadium, which justified 1,300 million.
