Inter Milan are already laying the groundwork to sign Red Bull Salzburg midfielder Luka Sucic in a loose move next summer.
This is reported in today’s print edition of the Roman newspaper Corriere dello Sport, FCInterNews.
Red Bull Salzburg midfielder Sucic has a contract with the Austrian club until the end of next summer.
This means that within twelve months the 21-year-old could be ready to make a move.
Of course, everything will depend on the final outcome of the contract negotiations between Sucic and Salzburg.
If Sucic is available, there will be no shortage of signing of the Croatian international.
The Croatian outsider has had a great career in recent seasons at Salzburg.
This allowed the 21-year-old to make it to the Croatian national team. Despite his young age, he has already played ten games with the senior national team.
And Sucic’s remarkable seasons at Salzburg put him on the radar of many top European teams, especially given his potential availability on a flexible transfer.
Therefore, the festival to sign Sucic will be tough.
But Inter can reach an agreement. The Nerazzurri have earned a reputation for exploiting opportunities for loose movements in the market.
Sucic would be the best example of the type of player Inter owners Oaktree Capital need to sign. It is young, with important expansion customers and resale value.
The Croatian is a player Inter identify as a possible long-term heir to Henrikh Mkhitaryan on the left side of the trio of heir midfielders.
Mkhitaryan continues to be a key player in midfield. But he’ll turn 36 next season, so he’ll have to be cut faster or later.
Sucic is a midfielder with a flexible profile. He has shown himself capable of excelling in the center back and attacking midfield roles.
Inter therefore have the floor to sign the Croatian next summer.
The Nerazzurri have already beaten the festival against the likes of Andre Onana and Marcus Thuram thanks to weak transfer deals.
And they will consult with Sucic again next summer.
